HRA and Home loan Interest can we claimed together?

Yes, it is possible for a salaried person to claim both HRA (House Rent Allowance) exemption and home loan interest under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

  1. HRA exemption: If you are paying rent for a house, you can claim HRA exemption. The amount of HRA received from the employer and the rent paid, whichever is less, can be claimed as an exemption under Section 10(13A) of the Income Tax Act.

  2. Home loan interest: Home loan borrowers can claim a tax deduction of up to INR 2 Lakhs on the interest paid on their home loan under Section 24 of the Income Tax Act. This benefit is available for a self-occupied property.

However, it's important to note that, in case you are living in your own house which you bought using a home loan, you can't claim the HRA exemptions and the home loan interest deductions together as per the Indian Income Tax laws.
